2012 River Valley Marathon
AUGUST 18, 2012
7 am
This year will be the first River Valley Marathon. The course is mostly paved trail with about one mile on residential streets. No roads are closed. Please follow the rules of the road and wait at stoplights (most of which are between mile 6 and 20). The trail could be busy with families, other runners and bikers. Please be safe on the trail.
The race will have a minimal entry fee ($10) to cover the cost of medals, aid stations and photos. Any extra money will be donated to The American Cancer Society. You can register for the race at the above link. Note: the race will be capped at 25 runners.
A course map can be found at the link above. The race will start/finish on the river walk trail behind Fred Meyers in downtown Puyallup. The course follows the trail for 0.4 miles . Here, you follow city streets (~0.5 mi) to pick up the trail again. At mile 2.75, you cross under a bridge onto a farm road. The road is ~.75 miles long. At the end of the road, you join the Foothills trail at the Meeker trail head. Continue on the trail until mile 13.1 (near the Emu). This is the turnaround.
There will be 3 aid stations at the McMillin trail head (~mile 8 out and ~miles 18 back) and the turn around. Each station will have water and Gu.
